2.1. Registration

Dear visitor, welcome to Tom`s Diner. If this is your first visit here, please read the Help. It explains how this page works. You must be registered before you can use all the page's features. Please use the registration form, to register here or read more information about the registration process. If you are already registered, please login here.

2.1. Registration

If you want to create your own account on the board, follow the Registration link. It is normally found at the top of the page. If the registration is disabled, you may request further information from the administrator.

After accepting the terms and conditions, you will need to enter some personal information.

Username

This is the name you will use to login. Whenever you write a message, your username will show up next to it. Usernames are unique, if your username is already taken, you will have to choose a different one.

E-mail address

Your e-mail address must be unique. The address has to be yours, and needs to be working, as you will be sent a message with an activation link by the system. This e-mail address will also be needed, if you have lost your password.

Password

Password and username are needed for login. Please select a secure password, and try to change it as often as possible. A secure password consists of a least 8 characters, including numbers, capital letters as well as special characters. It is also suggested not to use a password, that you already use on other sites.

Languages

If the site is available in different languages, you can select the menu language.

Security measures

Webpages are often attacked by other programs. One example would be to create hundreds of new user accounts at once. To protect the board, the administrator can enable security measures. You then have to write the letters you can see within a presented image into the appropriate textbox. You can recreate and enlarge the image if you have difficulties reading it. If you do not manage to complete that step you can contact an administrator.
